THE POTENTIAL OF LIGHT

Explore the Benefits of Red Light

From skin care to movement and mindful routines, discover where red and near-infrared light is being studied—and how it can fit into your day.

Skin Radiance

Red light is studied for improving the appearance of fine lines and uneven texture. A considered skincare routine can include light alongside the daily care your skin already needs.

Man performing a gentle stretch after exercise

Muscle Recovery

Research explores red and near-infrared light for exercise-related muscle soreness and recovery. Fit a light session around training, following the settings and schedule specified for your device.

Evening Wind-Down

Make room for a calm, screen-free pause as part of your evening routine. Early sleep studies are promising, but results depend on the light source, timing and treatment protocol.

Joint Comfort

Photobiomodulation has been investigated for joint pain and stiffness in specific clinical settings. Explore a targeted light routine alongside the movement and care that keep everyday life comfortable.

Mature woman with natural skin texture

Skin Renewal

Studies examine how selected red and near-infrared wavelengths influence collagen-related processes and skin repair. These findings help explain the interest in light as part of long-term skin care.

Cellular Energy

Light-sensitive molecules can respond to red and near-infrared exposure, influencing pathways involved in mitochondrial activity and ATP production. This cellular response is a central area of photobiomodulation research.

Research outcomes vary by device, dose and application. These topics describe general research and routine ideas, not clinically proven outcomes for LumHarbor products.

LIFE WITH LUMHARBOR

A Quieter End to Our Day

Stories about making room for light at home.

David Miller

A Quieter End to Our Day

After dinner, we often find ourselves scrolling on our phones until it is time for bed. We wanted to make that part of the evening feel less rushed. A small tabletop light setup gives us a reason to sit down together and take a screen-free break. Better sleep is something we hope to work toward, alongside a more consistent bedtime.

Keeping My Skincare Routine Simple

I am interested in caring for my skin, but I do not want a routine that takes over my evening. My priorities are uneven texture and the fine lines I have started noticing. A light setup at home is something I would explore alongside my usual moisturizer and sunscreen, keeping track of any changes without expecting an overnight transformation.

A Little More Attention to My Skin

As my skin has changed with age, I have become more interested in its texture and overall appearance. I prefer a manageable routine over adding lots of new products. A compact tabletop panel is a format I would consider at home, following its instructions and taking occasional photos in the same lighting to assess changes fairly.

Making Everyday Comfort a Priority

Stiffness can make ordinary things—getting up from a chair or taking a walk—feel like more effort. I am interested in exploring red light as one part of a broader comfort routine, alongside gentle movement and appropriate care. Having a dedicated place at home would make it easier to give that routine some attention.

Giving Myself Time to Wind Down

My mind does not always slow down when the workday ends. I wanted a quieter transition between answering messages and going to bed. This home light corner represents a few minutes away from the screen, with no work to finish and nowhere else to be. The aim is a calmer evening, while paying attention to how I sleep.

Making Recovery Part of My Routine

I enjoy staying active, but soreness after a demanding workout can affect what I feel ready to do the next day. I am interested in exploring a light routine alongside rest, sensible training and gentle movement. Keeping the setup near my workout space would help me remember that recovery deserves time, too.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE RESEARCH

Explore the Research Behind the Light.

From skin appearance and muscle recovery to sleep and cognitive research, scientists are studying how red and near-infrared light interact with the body. Explore four published studies below.

01 / NEUROLOGICAL RESEARCH

Exploring Cognitive Recovery

In a small pilot involving 11 adults with chronic mild traumatic brain injury, targeted scalp LED treatments were followed by improvements in selected memory and executive-function tests.

Early, uncontrolled findings; this does not establish consumer-panel treatment for brain injury.

02 / SKIN RESEARCH

Skin Texture & Collagen

A controlled study involving 136 volunteers found improvements in skin feel, surface texture and measured collagen density after repeated red-light or broader-spectrum sessions.

Compared with untreated controls; study devices and doses differ from home panels.

03 / MOVEMENT RESEARCH

Post-Exercise Muscle Recovery

In a randomized trial of 50 healthy men, targeted laser-and-LED photobiomodulation reduced post-exercise soreness and improved strength recovery compared with placebo under the tested protocol.

04 / SLEEP RESEARCH

Sleep & Evening Relaxation

A sham-controlled study of 30 adults found better self-reported sleep and relaxation among active collar users, but objective sleep measurements did not differ between groups.

Promising subjective findings; larger studies are needed before drawing firm conclusions.
